On the Li River in southern China, a traditional cormorant fisherman prepares his lamp before sunrise. This centuries old practice remains closely associated with the karst landscape of Yangshuo and Guilin. In the stillness before dawn, he adjusts the light as limestone peaks gradually emerge through the morning mist.
