Committed to the fight for justice, Leetona Dungay , a Dungutti elder, remains unable to properly grieve her son’s traumatic passing. David Dungay, a 26 year old Indigenous man, died in custody in 2015 in Long Bay Jail, after being forcibly restrained by several guards. His death was recorded by the body cameras of the guards involved and circulated by news outlets across the internet. Ten years on, Leetona Dungay’s life is dedicated to advocating for the injustices enacted on her son at the hands of the system, taking her from her home in South Kempsey, Australia, to Geneva, Switzerland.
