My goal for portraits is to see emotion from my models. And yet, I've never tried to show emotion in my self portraits. The goal of this portrait was to do just that. Is it an apology? If so, what did he do? To whom is he apologizing? If I can get the viewer to ask these questions, then I've accomplished my task of making the viewer a participant.
