These images are remarkable, because they are evoking the essence of impressionist paintings. They were captured at Lake Balaton, Hungary, in early summer. A sudden rise in water temperature around noon triggered a mass appearance of filamentous blue-green algae. From a photographer’s perspective, the true fascination lay not merely in the abrupt greening of the water, but in the extraordinary reflections. The photos highlight the sunbathing dock stairs, their structure reflected on the algae-covered surface. As the wind picked up the algae vanished from the water’s surface in an instant.

Hegedűs Ákos/morpho was born on 7th June 1972 in Budapest. He has been concerned with concert photography from the 90′s: documented the events of Sziget festival every year from the begginings and took part in mega concerts of stars like the Rolling Stones, U2, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Santana, Metallica or Robbie Williams as a photographer. In 1994 he was present at the 25th jubilee concert of Woodstock 1969 in the USA. In the new millennium his photographic interest arose towards social problems, the environment and climate change. He has 8 photographic albums published.
