This work captures the Grand Torii Gate of Yahiko in Niigata, shrouded in the autumn morning mist. Seeking the rare and ideal weather conditions that create this sea of clouds, I spent four years consistently visiting this site before finally encountering this miraculous moment. As if to bless the scene, a flock of swans—heralding the arrival of winter—flew across the sky like divine messengers. The image depicts a once-in-a-lifetime harmony between nature and sacred symbolism.

Takeshi Kameyama is a photographer based in Niigata, Japan, who began his career in 2008, pursuing genre-defying artistic expressions. Alongside fine-art photography, he works in advertising, including Sony G Master promotions and East Japan Railway projects. He is currently an MFA candidate at Kyoto University of the Arts, deepening academic research in photography. In May 2026, he hosted a joint exhibition with Farmani Group and TIFA in Shibuya. He also leads the Kogame Photo Community to support creators in international competitions.
