The lakes were formed after Mount Bandai(Fukushima) erupted in 1888, and the different colors (ranging from emerald green and turquoise to cobalt and pastel blue) are a result of various volcanic minerals, such as allophane and iron oxide, that were deposited in the water.

I am a professional photographer based in Sydney, Australia. Over the past 30 years I have been running photo workshops.

I am multi-lingual and bring my language skills to local and overseas photography tours with fluency in Spanish, Japanese, English and Tagalog/Filipino.
