In her series she uses animals to mirror human struggles and the magic of being together. Her process is a unique mix of nature and craftsmanship.
She spends days in the wild to photograph birds in their natural habitat. Back in her studio, she builds and paints detailed decors by hand. These small sets act as a theatrical stage where the wild birds become actors in a fable.
Through these tiny performances, she explores themes of loss, hope, and wisdom. It is a contemporary tribute to the collective journey we all take, showing that our stories are always linked.

Kaat Stieber is a fine art photographer who weaves the worlds of surrealism and noble Dutch art into her images. Mixing her broad set of creative skills with an internationally acclaimed background in theatre and costume design, her photos are assembled with vast craftmanship. Kaat's works of art resemble tableaus from the Dutch Golden Age, a rich realm of paintings and a constant source of identification. An admiration of surrealists adds to the scene.
