They say that all art is a dialogue between the artist and the viewer - if that’s so then these pictures are good listeners, I hope. The photos are asking questions, and then quietly listening the reply.
For the sixty-some years that I’ve been photographing I’ve been mostly a people photographer, enjoying the back-and-forth between my subject and me. Now it’s just me on a Cape Cod beach, watching the sea and the sky, the horizon. Waiting for moments when the two come together, making photos containing as little information as possible with as much detail as possible.
