ODE Stories is personal work exploring the human presence and its identity, in relation to space and light, with images that rather suggest than explain.

Working exclusively in black and white, the series focuses on moments where perception, memory, and emotion intersect, creating images that exist between presence and absence.

The images were photographed in 2025 in Amsterdam, Ibiza and Paris, and were created through digital photography and post-processing in Photoshop.

Layering and double exposure techniques were used subtly to enhance atmosphere, depth and visual layering.

Juliette Bongers graduated in 1994 from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, with an honours degree in Photography.

She worked as a professional photographer in Amsterdam, collaborating with national and international agencies and magazines, and was represented by renowned agency UNIT.

Her portfolio, built around extensive portrait work and personal projects, supported her commercial assignments. While commissioned projects were challenging and rewarding, her personal work remained central, exploring ideas, light, and the human presence to shape a distinctive visual universe.
