A bonsai is a tree taught to forget its scale, and an ikebana is a meadow cut into one gesture. They embody both intimacy and violence. This project sits inside the contradiction between nature and its idealised form, between Rousseau's freedom and chains. The wire and cut don't betray nature, but argue with it, making a third thing, neither wild nor artificial. I leave them visible and ask where being begins: not before, but inside the shaping, in the friction between what grows unguided and what we form it to become, at the boundary where growth and design blur and balance stays unresolved.
