Series produced at Mullick Bazar, Kolkata, India, one of the world's oldest markets for used auto parts and accessories. In 1962, the yellow or white Hindustan Ambassador taxis made their first appearance. Today, these taxis with their 4-cylinder diesel engines are gradually being withdrawn from circulation. Many of these taxis are dismantled by hand every day in Mullick Bazar anonymously. In doing so, a page of history is turning for India's third-largest city, a disappearance that also resonates with the Anthropocene and the future of individual mobility for the world's 5th largest economy.
