Spectral Fields explores nature as a repository of light and memory, where time accumulates. Black-and-white medium-format negatives are digitally layered into double or triple exposures, then enhanced with color, filters, and digital painting, disrupting the original monochrome surface and reshaping perception.

Photographs are captured on a vintage Agfa Isolette I with expired film. Layered images are sometimes recombined, allowing multiple moments to coexist in a single frame, creating a space where memory, perception, and light remain in flux.

Juleah Claar (Leah) is an American photographer based in Switzerland. Working across film and digital, her practice is rooted in observation, shaped by a background in anthropology and a previous career in the corporate sector. She returned to photography in 2016.

Her work focuses on everyday life—street scenes, nature, and cultural details—distilling quiet, authentic moments into visual narratives. Occasionally working with double exposure, she layers images in post-processing to reframe familiar subjects with subtle complexity.
