Sur le célèbre spot de Teahupoo à Tahiti ou cette houle a sculpté des vagues d'une beauté impressionnante. Sur la photo, un surfeur est éjecté dans les airs après avoir dompté une magnifique vague. Suspendu un instant dans l’air au-dessus du bouillonnement tumultueux de l’eau qui s'écrase avec fracas, il semble entre deux mondes. L'écume blanche et l'énergie brute de l'océan contrastent avec la silhouette du surfeur pour un moment de pure liberté et d'adrénaline.

Marc Lenfant is a French photographer based in French Polynesia for more than twenty-five years. Trained as a geographer, he explores the relationship between people, the ocean and island territories. His work moves between documentary approach and poetic vision, focusing on gestures, traditions, landscapes and the fragile balance between human presence and nature, in Polynesia and during his travels beyond the Pacific.
