Over two days, the series documents rehearsals and the concert in clear, compositional images: gleaming tuning rods, string patterns, and bowed curves form graphic lines, while light-and-shadow contrasts emphasize hands, faces, and gestures. The photographs guide the viewer from focused work in the half-light of the rehearsal room to the energetic climax under spotlights, tracing the process from the first note to the applause.

Nina Sommer is a multidisciplinary artist based in Basel. Her work blends cyanotype, floral composition, and conceptual photography into poetic visual narratives that explore ephemerality, light, and materiality. Through Studio Sommer, she creates visual concepts that move between art and applied contexts – atmospheric, sensitive, and narratively compelling.
