Inti Raymi means "The Inca Festival of the Sun" in Quechua. It is the main traditional ritual in honor of the Sun god and Llamas would be sacrificed to the Sun god. The festival is celebrated every June 24th during the winter solstice to give thanks for the good harvest. One big ceremony was held at Sacsayhuaman’s esplanade at 3671 meters altitude with a beautiful Cusco mountain as the backdrop. The entire event was conducted in the Quechua language.

The festival involves music, dancing, and ritualistic ceremonies while people showcase gorgeous ancient Inca fabrics and garments.
