Everywhere in the world, adolescence is a time of revolt and anxiety, but over there it's more than this.
Teenagers here form as many communities as there are sub-cultures: goths, metalheads, skinheads, skaters, etc. Their need to belong is only matched by their sense of alienation.
Those I have photographed often have no recollection of their lives before the war, and live in anguish over a future that remains uncertain. Without a past or a future, they live out their youth in the limbo of the present.
