Grandfathers at War

A portrait series of Ukrainian soldiers with the call sign “Did” (“Grandpa”) — men from different brigades who became the backbone of the army. Builders, drivers, restorers—now artillerymen and infantry, often despite age and health issues. Calm, ironic, quietly carrying the weight of war. I photographed “Grandfathers” across different Ukrainian regiments to show the strength and dignity of these ordinary, irreplaceable men.
