Ryan first started visiting my studio in 2022. The year they graduated from high school. They eventually brought friends and their sister. And each time the studio thrummed with ideas, laughter and friendship. Through them I learned the importance of family and friends in their childhood and teen years. They all told me how each one contributed to the others' wellbeing. Ryan has since moved away and is leading their best life despite the worries of the world. I know that as long as their family/friends are there for them, they will prosper and be safe. They are loved.
I am a Fine Art photographer interested in storytelling, curiosity, and a lifelong desire to explore the world visually. After raising five children and living many roles—daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, widow, and partner—I discovered photography later in life. Nine years ago, my partner gave me my first camera, and in 2020 we transformed an old woodworking shop into my studio. Since then, I have dedicated myself to learning, experimenting, and creating work that reflects the stories I’ve carried for decades.
