Bubble eruption of frozen flowers

  • Prize
    Silver in Nature/Macro

As a self-taught macro photography learner my shooting experience during this week was amazing. Eventually I found the bubbles squeezed out from frozen petals and leaves were as fascinating as romantic flowers. In -20 degree Celsius freezer, those tiny warm air molecules burst out from flowers and they looked like flying bullets with dramatic strong power. The shapes of the bubbles kept changing during the process of shooting. The random compositions were even more bizarre. I created backlight with only two simple flashlights and some recycled find glass beads which were made by myself.

An amateur photographer recently retired from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
