I capture the emptiness and silence of tourist destinations during the holiday season. Moments and places where the temporary human is absent, but his presence remains latently visible. Places where we 'escape', but which also reveal something of our way of life. Images of an in-between time as if these places are frozen in a moment. There is a delay, an in-between phase, waiting for the next scene or movement. Photographed in twilight, also a moment of transition. The series is a metaphor for the transitional periods in our lives, in which a certain phase, but the next has yet to begin.
