After visiting a retrospective of the German-American painter Lyonel Feininger in Frankfurt, I was inspired to photograph what I saw in my own way. I particularly liked his cubist paintings, which he called Prisma.
I had my camera with me and set off through the high-rise city center of the financial metropolis of Frankfurt. I thought about how I could translate Feininger's painting style into photography. Using individual settings and freehand, I photographed the scenery from different angles in the city. It is always just 1 image and no multiple exposures or HDR.
"If you really love nature, you will find beauty everywhere." - Vincent Van Gogh
This quote from Vincent Van Gogh is very true for me, as I am a nature person and have been creatively dealing with nature as a landscape gardener for many years.
When I was on vacation, I was always traveling, whether near or far, but I always had my camera with me. This was probably the basis for my photography, which became a passion. When I'm on the move, I always have an eye open for great subjects. With impressionist photography, I found a new field of activity alongside nature and architecture.
Awards I have been submitting images to various international photography competitions for 3 years and there has been steady progress. The highlight so far was winning the Architecture category at the Budapest Int. Photo Awards 2024.
