Photographed from the 54th floor of the Millennium Hilton on my 40th birthday, this is the Oculus as it’s rarely seen: floating in a void, detached from the chaos of the city. From above, its skeletal symmetry evokes flight, rebirth, and stillness. I stripped away the noise to expose what it really is — not just architecture, but metaphor. A bird, a scar, a prayer. In that moment, it mirrored me.
