Taken over time and on multiple ferry crossings in the San Juan Islands, Washington, these images explore vessel and metaphor. The spaces are about transition and quiet observation. Each image is composed through or around windows, which act as a boundary separating interior from exterior, built environment from landscape, viewer from view, and stillness from movement. The ferry serves as a liminal space between the point of departure and destination.
