Face of Yamal

The Nenets are one of the indigenous peoples of the North, inhabiting the coast of the Arctic Ocean from the Kola Peninsula to Taimyr. A series of portraits were taken during Reindeer Herder's Day in Salekhard - a large-scale Arctic holiday that is loved in Yamal and is held every year.

The images from this series evoked a wide response from regional communities and won prizes in photo competitions. For example, the first portrait received gold in the 35AWARDS in the “Children’s Portrait” category

Photographer and designer from Moscow. I work in the genre of staged photography, and create projects about people and stories. Each of my series is a version of what life could be like if I were a different person: a traveler, a reenactor, a historian at Cairo University, a representative of the Miao people around Luang Prabang, the mistress of a baroque mansion in London in the 19th century.

A photographer can look behind closed doors, get acquainted with other cultures and professions. Therefore, in my shootings, I plunge into a whole kaleidoscope of topics with their accents, aesthetics
