More necessary than the sun
The European Community addresses climate change through legislation. Globally, 90% breathe polluted air. The central Balkans, especially Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Kosovo, contribute significantly to Europe's air pollution. Balkan cities face severe winter pollution from aging coal-fired plants, open-cast lignite mines, and ash dumps, raising health concerns. According to the UN Environment Programme, regional pollution exceeds EU limits by five times. "More Necessary than the Sun" documents the impacts of these "monsters," reflecting neo-colonialism often led by foreign companies.
