Photography of sand dunes has brought us to a rare world of dignified calmness. Other senses hardly compromise our sight; all distractions of our reality disappear. Being there is an abstraction from the continuous entropy of life, resulting in a simple and clean harmony.

As the recognizable world dissolves in abstraction, the image comes to work on one’s mind like a fragrance or a piece of music, eluding rational understanding and revealing itself fully only as a feeling.

Marek Boguszak is a Prague-based photographer whose work transforms desert landscapes into perceptual abstractions. He reconstructs landscape through shifts in color, light, orientation, and form, gradually moving the image between photography and abstraction. By transforming chromatic topologies, he creates visually unstable spaces that resist fixed interpretation. Marek has presented solo exhibitions at international venues in Zurich (CH), Bern (CH), Barcelona (ESP), Campione (IT), London (UK), Prague (CZ).
