Located in the outskirts of Amsterdam (IJburg), this architectural jewel is an amazing place to visit at any time of the day. The residential complex - entitled Sluishuis (Dutch for sluice house) has a very engaging design by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and Barcode Architects. It is built like an angular ring, partly hovering above the water. The courtyard is accessible on foot from the mainland and by boat from the water. Its intricate design is a beautiful exercise full vantage points and surprising perspectives.
I am a photographing artist based in The Netherlands. In 1990 I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg specializing in photography, painting and drawing. Since the development of digital photography my camera and computer have become my main tools for creation.
Because of my fascination with patterns, music scores, systems of writing and other graphic structures, my work always has been inhabited by geometric shapes, lines and rhythm. My current passion is the abstract beauty of architecture. Through my photographic compositions I hope to inspire and touch people's souls.
