"Tikky" is the word Finns use to describe the "Arctic Galaverne", when humidity, snow and frost create a thick layer of ice on fir trees, forcing them to bend and take on monstrous or bizarre shapes.
In these photos, taken in January 2023, I wanted to showcase the winter magic of Riisintuturi National Park in Finnish Lapland; few places in the world offer the chance to witness ice coming to life under the Northern Lights, during the endless nights, where the sun has only a few hours a day to complete its course.
I'm an italian landscape photographer with passion for nature and travel.
I started as a travel photographer in 2020 and then shifted my focus entirely to capturing natural landscapes because of the peace and serenity they can provide.
I want to communicate my experiences with nature; looking for that part of me that lives in the places I photograph is my purpose in photography.
Currently, I am working on several photography projects that involve the preservation of landscapes threatened by global warming.
