A LETTER FROM HOME

The UN World Drug Report 2022 highlights how the devastating effects of drug use have not been stemmed since last century to date. These photos are part of my ongoing project launched in 2021 on the journey of residents of San Patrignano, an Italian rehabilitation community for drug addicts. For the first year, letters represent the only contact with the outside. To try to restart it is necessary to disconnect from the past for a while. There are often human relations to be, at least, understood. Writing a letter means accepting one's own and others' weaknesses, breaking free.
