These images are part of a long-term personal project called ‘Brothers’, documenting the lives of my two sons growing up in a remote place surrounded by nature, our own pets and wild animals and birds that have come our way. Living with animals and the love we give them and what they give us in return, comes naturally to us. I want to show, with this work, two brothers growing up in a national park, the bond growing between them and the importance of the natural world and animals in children's lives, for health on all levels, from physical to creative, but most of all on an emotional one.

Juliette Mills, British, born 1972 I'm a documentary photographer at heart and have been shooting for over 20 years working in various areas - portraiture, family, commercial. For the past 12 years I've been working on several long-term personal projects, including 'Brothers' which documents the lives of my two sons from boys to men, growing up in Dartmoor National Park. And 'My Moor' a collection of images closely linked to the landscape, the unpredictable weather of the moor and the life within it, this is a gathering of people, places or moments in my community that I wish to mark forever.
