The great french photographer Gilbert Garcin died on April, 2020. These images are from the second part of a series I created inspired in his work and as a heartfelt tribute. It was done during the lockdown and solely at home with photos I took of myself and many of the photos I have taken through the years. It is a very important series for me, since I couldn't go out I had to go in. This Series tells a lot about me during the pandemic: my dreams, my desires and some of my nightmares and suffering too. I constructed the scenes trying to evoke entirely the feeling of Garcin's work.
Mexico City-based visual artist Ileana Montaño is an award-winning photographer who started her career as a professional in graphic communications and advertising.Her work has been exhibited globally, including her 2017 solo show "Fragmentos de Luz" in Mexico City. In May 2023, she published her first book, "L'ego meurtri. Hommage à Gilbert Garcin.". Ileana has gained international recognition, winning awards from different organizations. She has also been published in Better Photography magazine and featured and collaborated in renowned blogs about mobile art and photography.
