The Garden of Earthly Delights is based on Hieronymus Bosch's 1503 painting by the same name. The painting and the photograph are intended to be read as is an allegorical warning about the dangers of human indulgence. Bosch was interested in sins of the flesh while I am interested in the American Dream as it relates to growth and consumption. This image was made in a homogenous neighborhood outside of Seattle, WA which was built to house Microsoft employees and made up of about 150 photographs. My intent was to create a model that could represent a potential outcome of unbridled growth.
