This series celebrates the extreme mutability of the single subject matter: one or more Angel’s Trumpets, or brugmansia/datura. I further exploit this Digital Age opportunity with occasional “surgical interventions.” Every image is one single frame, one long exposure, even when the subject moves. I am suggesting floral-based ideas as examples of the kind of 21st Century updates which could be made now to the literal historical fine art bouquet.

The wide-open potential of the spectacular medium of photography is a constant source of new ideas, and I also honor its history when I create alternative process images. Always concerned about rich tonal values and compositional tension, I am unconstrained by allegiance to specific subject matter or to "standard" image formats. I have always had my own professional darkroom to use along with my (current) embrace of new technologies.
