Cold war remains

Uig is situated in the far North of the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in the UK. The remoteness of the landscape made the area an ideal location for a military base during the Cold war years. The base is now decommissioned but the remains of the buildings and military architecture remain. They stand on the edge of the of the Atlantic and make for haunting images in this bleak landscape.
