Whenever I find myself forgetting the fun in life, I go to cultural events like this. I always enjoy to watch other people having fun, feeling free and alive, a sense of passion, excitement and exhilaration.
Unfortunately, when we "grow up", too many of us don't even know what we think is fun. Sometimes, we get so caught up with the things such as job, chores, house that we forget to have fun. People need to have fun. Laughter brings about positive feelings like excitement, joy and enthusiasm for life. With these series I wanted to preserve the small, happy moments that happen in the streets.
Betty is a street and social documentary photographer currently based in Athens, Greece, founder/owner of CUT and DRY Blogzine, and a member of the Photographic Circle collective.
She holds a Business Administration and Marketing Degree.
Artist's Statement:
I strongly believe that street photography undoubtedly affects our capacity to empathize. My photographic vision focuses on capturing the soul, the spirit of a city and the everyday life as it evolves in urban and rural environments.
What I photograph is defined by what I believe in.
