I Want To Matter

As the world shed’s light onto the Black Lives Matter Movement, I have found it imperative for Non-Black POC to unify for the cause. Despite the hardships faced by all minority communities in the United States, the Black community is one that receives change at a slower rate. The beauty of this time lays within the to action. Allies are required to educate themselves on the condition of ‘blackness’. As a Latina woman, I was familiar with the hardships of my fellow POC. I see, now, the depth of their struggle. It is beautiful to see a unified voice within the country.

Ada Trillo is a fine art photographer based in Philadelphia, PA, and Juarez, Mexico. Trillo holds degrees from the Istituto Marangoni in Milan and Drexel University in Philadelphia. Trillo’s work is concerned with human rights issues facing Latin America. Trillo has documented forced prostitution in Juarez and the recent migrant caravan attempting to reach the U.S..
