Dryland Farming

Like the rest of Spain, the Aragon region has suffered from severe droughts for decades. It’s often compared in parallel with the drought in California. Each year there is only a fraction of the water available for a "normal" growing season. This drought often causes wildfires leading to further loss in the economy. Facing against this uphill battle, the resilient Spanish farmers have continued their struggle to survive. This series of images are taken over 3000 ft. above ground from a small plane. The striking abstract patterns of farmlands are a reflection of mankind’s impact on the Earth.
