Sport occupies an important place in Cuba's educational system. Along with baseball, boxing is considered to be the country's top sport. Cuba has a long tradition of producing high-level boxers. Over the decades, a number of world-class boxers continued coming from the ranks of its amateur system, winning international acclaim and honors. I came across "Rafael Trejo", a historic gym that has long served as an incubator for young talents trying to join the National Federation of Boxing (Federacion Cubana De Boxeo).
