Porsche China asked me if I’d like to shoot in Shanghai and create some artwork for the PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, including their iconic sportscars. Hell yeah!
I created pictures in the style of my “Multivision” series to show the various vibrant faces of this great city. It went more than well, thanks to a fantastic team (David Schütte, FreemanXP and more) and I returned with 18 stunning pictures.
At the Photofairs my work was exhibited in the “Porsche Timeless” Show and it’s a big honor and pleasure to see my work alongside with pictures from René Staud and my BFF colleague Frank Kayser.
In times of an endless flood of images & greed for perfection I see the necessity to look into an entirely different direction: The images is not enough, it is the abstraction and the individual view oft he beholder, together they reach into and below the surface of customary patterns of conception.
The imagination of the viewer supplements what's absent; what thematically is not dissolved receives an invisible layer through the observer.
