The Turkana people are ‘dressed’ with their civilization preserving it through their daily struggle for survival. My series ‘Dressing’ is not about a few pieces of fabric masterfully matched nor about a random addition of western touches to the traditional look. I aspire to give a glimpse into the world of the Turkana , their beauty, but also the changes they undergo. Every image for me is a testimony of life in transition against new environmental and economic developments. Focusing on the attire I try to document the ark of history of an ancient civilisation threatened with extinction.
