Cool Flames

In my photography, I really enjoy abstracting landscapes from the air to give the viewer a different perspective than what they might typically see. I am most delighted if that abstracted pattern also conveys a mood or emotion, personifying the land.

From the air, I photographed the waters of Shark Bay crashing onto the beach many different ways. This image spoke to me the most as the waves look like white flames emanating from the water or, alternatively and metaphorically, like the open and curious fingers or tentacles of an exploratory organism.
