People love getting portraits of their pet's but many pet portraits
are done in a typical and seen before format with white
backgrounds and can be often predictable.

During research I came across a number of Victorian photographs
of family pets which was striking to me as it would have cost quite
a bit of money for these images to be developed. This was clearly
of no consequence to the owner who viewed the idea of
photographing the family pet as being as important as recording
the other family members.

For this project I wanted to create something different, a
marketable and individual pet portrait idea, but to also add a
modern and edgy dynamic and create images that could fit in the
pages of an independent art magazine.
