The Global Ghost Town

This series paints a grim image of our future planet. A future planet in which humanity
has vanished from certain regions or the surface of the earth entirely. It is very well
imaginable that resource depletion, increasing desertification or ultimately the use of
nuclear energy and weapons could turn parts of our precious living space inhabitable.
Kolmanskop, Namibia serves as a powerful illustration for such civilatory downfall - a
place abandoned due to a depleted mine and slowly being claimed back by the desert.
