"San Tsung Si De"- Four virtues

The four virtues were: morality, proper speech, modest manner and
diligent work. Education for females was seen as threatening to the
status quo and the principle “ no knowledge for a woman is a virtue”
took hold. Oppression of women was considered to be natural. This
series of portraits is about the situation woman endured in society of
old, it is not so much about feminism but more about something that
existed in history. I wanted to preserve that for future generations . I
don't want people to forget about how women were treated and how
these immoral values and standards made sexual violence against
women acceptable and normal. I can still see these dangerous
perceptions lingering in today's world.
