In the last years, the horseracing area has been suffering from a deep
crisis due both to the management policy a bit accurate to the
problems of the sector and by the economic crisis of Italy. However
there are many fans who continue to believe in the sport.
I decided to tell the horseracing that resists at this crisis and that still
manages to attract many fans and to give work despite the cuts.
Cuts that have heavily impacted the sector in recent years by more
than 200 million euro in prize money of 2011 have seen a decrease in
investments down to a prize money of 75 million euro for 2014, to be
divided between a trot and canter.
The interest in this world has led me to explore many of its aspects
and to learn about a reality of sweat and sacrifice, commitment and
dedication, awake at sunshine and returns late at night, trying to catch
the different moments that characterize this world.
This horseracing reality today continues to live only because the love
for the horse goes over every obstacle [ ... ] because if you eat only
bread and horse can fully comprehend this world."
