A mob in Bangladesh's capital thrashes 12-years-old Manik on suspicion that he explodes a
homemade bomb at a park in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. He is one of three
children believed to have exploded a homemade bomb at a park where people throng to
celebrate the Valentine's Day during the ongoing nationwide blockade called by the
opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led alliance. The children claim they picked
up the device while playing there.

  A.M. Ahad is a photojournalist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh represented by Associated Press and part-time teacher of photojournalism at the Journalism department at the Jahangirnagar University. Ahad holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Photojournalism from Ateneo de Manila University as a full scholar and also graduated in Mass communication, Media studies and Journalism from Stamford University Bangladesh. He achieved the 3rd prize at the NPPA Photojournalism Award in 2014, 1st prize at the National Headliner Award in 2014, category winner on the 10th Annual Photoshare Contest in 2015, 1st prize on Transparency International Photo Competition in 2015, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize under several categories of Life Press Photo Contest, Ukraine in 2015, 2nd prize (people’s choice) and 3rd prize on Px3 Paris Photography Prize in 2015, 2nd prize on The Photo Tour of Jordan Contest in 2015, 2nd Prize and Honorable Mention on The 8th International Color Award in 2015, 3rd Prize and Honorable Mention on The 9th International Color Award in 2016, Honorable Mention on the ND Awards in 2015, Honorable Mention in CGAP Photo Contest in 2013, Honorable Mention on Black and White Spider Award in 2015, as well as achieved several accolades in the field of photography worldwide. His work has been published in numerous international medias including TIME, The New York Times, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, The Observer Magazine, Saudi Aramaco World, Himal Southasian, and exhibited in several countries including Backlight Photo festival in Finland, SeeMe Exhibition, Musee du Louvre in Paris – France, The Charlotte Observer Gallery in USA, The Guardian Gallery, Kings Place in London, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan. He was commissioned for many international organizations and worked around the globe.
