Now Axel Hilger is notoriously not the first artist to whom the term
"metamorphosis" inspired. Ovid and Richard Strauss called at a
distance of nearly 2000 years their works as well. Even the Rolling
Stones chose him as the title of a 1975 released album. But Axel
Hilger survived the metamorphosis!
It became aware of him surprised and happy that the only constant
is change in his life. From there it was of course not so far as to
"metamorphosis" Conversion, transformation and metamorphosis.
The term itself could easily fill evenings. In mythology he alone is
to stress hard to beat. Just think of Zeus, as he turns a bull the
Phoenician princess Europa abducted or the companions of
Odysseus, which transformed the sorceress Circe into swine. But
these are indeed ultimately all just allegories of man, inspired by
nature. A caterpillar chrysalis and becomes a butterfly - creative
genius, whether fanciful evolution or divine creation!
And just went Axel Hilgers work to date as a photographer. Always
looking for the perfect moment, he is not no mountain puddle no
valley was too high, too low and too dirty. Since the days of his
childhood, he is obsessed with the genius of nature, is it not a tree
too dangerous, no Lurch to slimy and no weather so bad that it
could make him afraid! Yes, he lives this art because it can not be
different. One can as an artist not even just want to say so, you
have to follow an inner compulsion. That would be his motivation,
but where is the change? Creativity is also moving, you can not
stagnate Creative!
