    Silver in Portraiture/Family

    Gianluca De Bartolo, Italy

Gheorghe and Silviuca Gherman live, with their daughter, in
Sarbi, a small village in the Maramures county, Romania.
Every sunday they prepare a special bread for the church, bread
that will be blessed and given to the faithful for the communion.
A symbol that means "Jesus Christ prevails" is made on the
bread using a stamp called "pecetar".
It is necessary to have a special blessing by a priest in order to
be allowed to prepare the holy bread.
In the Gherman family both mother and daughter have this
permission.
