is my path within dualism
owning my emotional experiences
subsiding my layers
scars carved into my bones
haunted by the sense of my incompleteness
it is
my creative journey
from not having been able to find an answer to who i AM
to becoming alive in my consciousness
to coming to terms with myself
it is about acceptance what IS
loosing vs finding
sourcing my life from its presence
Potographer Cathrin Schulz places the aesthetic qualities
of her subject matter in the foreground. Through the formal
reduction and accentuation of particular colors in her photographs,
using a reduced visual language, careful choice of
motifs, and precise cropping of the image, Cathrin Schulz
condenses singular moments in their own authenticity. The
clarity is intensified further through digital manipulation.
By heightening contrasts, colors, and saturations, she
allows individual details and structures that would otherwise
escape our attention to emerge in palpable relief.
The objectivity, lack of distortion, and emptiness of human
presence in her works reveal the photographerâ??s affinity to
the tradition of the Becher School. The reserved, muted
tonality creates the impression of standstill and timelessness
â?? a blank screen onto which we project our own
memories and emotions.
