The photographic project „Asphalt dreams" is about sleeping
children’s in the streets of Bangkok. Most of them are children of
traders. The parents don’t have the possibility to bring their
children’s to preschools. So they have to take them to their work.
The children are surrounded by noise, smell and dirt. It seems that
they escape in their dreams from the hard rush of the daily
routine. They sleep during the day directly on the street. Exciting
is the fact, that they sleep in different „beds“. Some sleep in a
chair, some in a hammock, some in the arm of the mother, some
on an cold box or just on the ground. The parents absolutely take
care about their children. They have little beds, food and drinks
and also stuff to play. They love their children and want to best for
them, also when they just have simple possibilities.
